SINBIOTOKIAK
A ‘living’ sculpture that transforms the Aguas Juntas park into a meeting place that connects digital design with the natural environment. It recreates a city for the many species found in the area.
This project gives shape to a biome, a ‘living’ sculpture installed in the Aguas Juntas Park in Galdames, transforming this place into a space that allows us to connect with nature in a unique way, contributing to the creation of a more sustainable future.
The forms of the installation are inspired by observations of non-human architecture in nature: branches, corals, mangroves, nests and burrows… to achieve total symbiosis with the surroundings. The sculptural installation consists of a central piece and smaller elements placed in the trees, blending aesthetically into the natural environment and thereby enhancing the life of the surrounding flora and fauna, creating a symbiotic space that fuses technology and nature. The structure is designed using separate modules for 3D ceramic printing, which are then interconnected to create the organic forms. These forms will incorporate hollows and cavities to provide shelter for a wide variety of species, including aquatic and terrestrial animals, microorganisms, insects and birds.
This project promotes an educational initiative for the local community on topics such as sustainability, biomanufacturing and new technologies, whilst also serving as a monitoring tool to assess the state of the local ecosystem in Galdames, acting as an indicator of the movements of the various species that interact with the facilities, including humans.
